OSSM Alumnus Creates Low-Cost Ventilators for Local Hospitals

Osamah Mian, OSSM class of 2016, is a biomedical engineering senior at the University of Oklahoma and is helping develop low-cost ventilators for local hospitals in the Oklahoma City metro. He works with a handful of physicians and engineers to make ventilators that will hopefully cost less than $300 and can be assembled with "off the shelf" parts. He has qualified as one of approximately 400 Semi-Finalists for the U.S. Physics Team that will compete in the 51st International Physics Olympiad to be held in Lithuania this summer. Students Take Snow Break

Because its a boarding school, OSSM students don't get a traditional "snow day." That doesn't mean they don't enjoy the snow, though, and that's exactly what they did on Wednesday. Classes were still in session, but the students found time to be outdoors sledding, snowball fights and snowman making. Thank you to the OSSM maintenance team for their hard work.

Mentorship Program Leads to Real-Life Experience

Students Head to D.C. for National Competition

Four OSSM students and their coach traveled to Washington DC on Thursday to participate in the National Science Bowl Competition from April 25 through 29.
