Michelle McCargish, Ph.D., was named 2019 Oklahoma History Teacher of the Year, an award sponsored by the Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History. Dr. McCargish, who holds a Master’s in American History with an emphasis on the Gilded Age and Progressive Era from Oklahoma State University, also completed her doctorate in 19th Century American History. OSSM's 28th graduation will be Saturday, May 25, @ 10 a.m. The ceremony will be held on the south side of the Oklahoma State Capitol. Congratulations to our 55 graduates who will attend colleges and universities in state and across the nation and have earned more than $11 million in scholarship offerings. Graduation Activities Start Next Week

Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence Names Three OSSM Students as Academic All-Staters

The Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence named its recipients of its prestigious 2019 Academic All-State Awards. Congratulations to Jeanette Hoang, Kevin Wiafe, and Tao Zhu. Overall, the 100 top public high school seniors, selected from 535 nominations statewide, hail from 83 schools in 75 Oklahoma school districts. Mentorship Program Leads to Real-Life Experience

Seniors described their experiences at the Annual Mentorship Symposium on Saturday. Mentorships ranged from working in the State Capitol to investment and architectural firms in the OKC metro, and each of the 18 students prepared a 15-minute presentation and took questions from the audience. Students Head to D.C. for National Competition

Four OSSM students and their coach traveled to Washington DC on Thursday to participate in the National Science Bowl Competition from April 25 through 29. OSSM Partners with Boeing to Enhance STEM Curriculum at Altus High School
