The OSSM Chemistry department  has added a sophisticated, state-of-the-art Nuclear Magnetic Resonance (NMR) instrument at the Samson Science and Discovery Center. The implementation of benchtop NMR analytical instrument will substantially empower the school’s organic chemistry laboratory teaching and research curriculum. It also augments the department’s Infrared Spectroscopic.

The NMR tool is a  transformative laboratory tool that allows students to  identify structures of products and deduce unknown reaction components.

The OSSM Chemistry department uses an approach that closely models professional research laboratories and is a valuable preparatory tool for aspiring researchers.

The OSSM chemistry department and students are thankful to OSSM Foundation and its donors for funding this instrument. Donors making this important resource possible include the ONEOK Foundation, Presbyterian Health Foundation, the E.L. and Thelma Gaylord Foundation, Express Employment Professionals, the Kerr Foundation, and other individual OSSM supporters.
