The Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics will host a series of free one-day math workshops for middle school students throughout the state of Oklahoma. Created for students entering grades six through nine in fall of 2023, the goal is to help them learn math concepts in a fun, interactive environment. Students will play logic and math games taught by OSSM Professor Frank Wang, Ph.D.

“Students who attended these workshops last summer told me afterwards they didn’t know what to expect and were perhaps a bit hesitant to come but very happy that they did,” said Frank Wang, Ph.D. “This is a refreshing and cool break from a hot summer day!”

OSSM will host two one-day workshops in Oklahoma: one in Ardmore and another in Woodward. Each session will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The event is free and includes lunch.

To register for the event, visit the website at ossm.edu or email Frank.Wang@ossm.edu. The schedule is as follows:

Ardmore, Okla.: Friday, June 30 @ the Southern Tech Center, Conference Room B
Woodward, Okla.: Friday, July 14 @ the High Plains Technology Center
