The OSSM/William Company One-Day Math Workshops for Middle School Students

OSSM hosts nine individual one-day math workshops for students in grades 6, 7, and 8 in fall. All workshops are free and include lunch.

Through the free workshops, OSSM faculty and local master teachers will help middle school students prepare for the upcoming school year and learn math through a fun and interactive approach.

For more information, contact Dan Vossen at or

Workshop hours: 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. Please be on time!
Drop-off at the gazebo gates – look for the OSSM white banner with blue lettering. We will conduct an elementary-style drop-off and pick-up of students. (Pay attention to pedestrians attempting to cross the parking lot.)
If your child has been approved for onsite registration, walk your child to the gate and complete the required paperwork.
We do not have space for parents or guests to wait on campus. There are several establishments, restaurants, and parks within 5-15 minutes of the OSSM campus.
To the best of our ability, we will assign your child to a class of students with approximately the same math skills.
Students will rotate through multiple 50-minute classes and visit up to three different instructors during the day.
  • New material is introduced daily.
  • Our instructors are a combination of OSSM professors and hand-picked, local secondary math instructors.
  • All materials are provided.
  • Calculators are not required but are recommended.
  • Masks are optional and not required.
Water bottles are allowed in the classroom.
  • Cell phones will be collected at the beginning of each class and returned at the end of the day – unless otherwise needed.
  • Backpacks, laptop computers, I-pads and other electronic devices are restricted and should be left at home.
Attire – regular school clothing – school uniforms are not required. Bring a sweater or light jacket in case the classrooms become too cool or cold.

If your child suffers from food allergies, you may bring your own lunch.
