Dr. Dutch Ratliff

Dr. Charles “Dutch” Ratliff, Ph.D.: Dutch was born in Arkansas and grew up in Guthrie, Oklahoma. He has a BS in mathematics and physics from Oklahoma State University, and an MS and PhD in physics & astronomy from the University of Pennsylvania. He has worked on academic neuroscience research for the last 15 years, primarily in the ophthalmology departments at Northwestern University and UCLA, and the Zilkha Neurogenetic Institute at USC. He maintains several continuing research projects involving retinal electrophysiology, computational and theoretical models of brain structure and function, and stem cell therapies for vision restoration. He is currently a member of the Center for Systems Vision Science at Ritsumeikan University, Shiga, Japan. At OSSM he promotes interest in physics, mathematics, psychology and economics.
