The AMC 12 is a 25-question, 75-minute multiple-choice competition designed for students in grades 12 and below. It covers the full high school mathematics curriculum, including trigonometry, advanced algebra, and advanced geometry. Calculus is excluded.

The AMC 8 is a 25-question, 40-minute competition designed for students in grade 8 and below. The competition focuses on middle school mathematics topics, including counting and probability, estimation, proportional reasoning, elementary geometry (including the Pythagorean Theorem), spatial visualization, and interpreting graphs and tables. Some of the later questions may touch on beginning algebra topics, such as linear or quadratic functions and coordinate geometry.

The entrance to the OSSM campus is on the corner of NE 10th Street and N Stiles Ave. You will enter through the library. For GPS, please use the address 401 N.E. 10th Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73104. Arrive at 2:30-2:45 p.m. in the Shedrick Library at OSSM. Please do not arrive before 2:30 as no one will be ready to receive you.
At 2:30 p.m., OSSM students in the library building will direct you to the contest room, or parent presentation room.
Parents may leave and come back according to our expected conclusion time (about 4:15-4:30 p.m.). Alternatively, parents may stay and hear a presentation about OSSM for parents of participants interested in considering OSSM for their last two years of high school.
