2020 Sarkeys Foundation Summer Math Institute
Please join us for a five-day learning experience June 1-June 5
(Check-in Sunday evening June 2).
This fun-filled event will take place at the picturesque OSSM campus in Oklahoma City. We are proud to announce the Sarkeys Foundation and OSSM as sponsors of the Summer Math Institute.
The Institute is filled with informative lectures and demonstrations, hands-on lab sessions, and field trips. Speakers address topics relevant to middle school math curriculum and enrichment topics. We invite you to be challenged, be inspired, and be better!
We are thrilled to announce the return of Alex Kajitani, The Rappin’ Mathematician, as well as Marty Sugerik, an Instructional Coach specializing in secondary mathematics, standards-based project-based learning, technology, and literacy.
Two excursions to the National Weather Center in Norman and Oklahoma City Memorial Museum STEM Lab will provide first-hand learning experiences in these world-class facilities. Participants will get bright ideas and bold strategies from the keynote luncheon presentation by Oklahoma Teacher of the Year, Donna Gradel, and will come away enriched, entertained, inspired, and connected.
All participants will receive a $300 stipend and a certificate of attendance. The certificate recognizes a desire to improve mathematics education in schools and also satisfies requirements for professional development.
Registration for all/move-in time for resident teachers: 6:30-7:30 p.m., Sunday, June 2, 2019.
