OSSM President Search Committee

Persons charged by the Board of Trustees with the recruitment and assessment of candidates for the position of President of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics.

Geoffrey Simpson, Chair

Geoffrey currently serves as the Founder and CEO of both Breach Management, LLC and Spiked Mace Software LLC. He is a candidate for a Ph.D. in Computer Science at the University of Tulsa, having obtained his master’s of Business Administration and bachelors of science in Computer Science from Oklahoma State University. He is also a member of the class of 1993 of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics (OSSM). g@GeoffreySimpson.me.

Dan Little, Chairman of OSSM Board of Trustees

Dan Little returned to Madill in 1969 to practice law. Dan earned his bachelors degree from Harvard University and his law degree from the University of Oklahoma.  He is a longtime member of the Oklahoma and American Bar Associations, the Oklahoma and American Trial Lawyers Associations and a lifetime member of the Oklahoma Bar Foundation. He has been the Chairman of OSSM’s Board of Trustees since the school’s inception. 

Ann Hargis

Ann Hargis is the immediate past First Lady of OSU.  Her degree is in mathematics and Latin from the University of Texas. She was appointed by Gov. Henry Bellmon, to OSSM’s Board of Trustees in the early 1990s, before ground was even broken on the current campus.
(And is thrilled to see so many OSSM alumni working for the continued success of their Alma Mater.)

Katie Altshuler

Ms. Altshuler is the government and community relations manager for Marathon Oil Corporation in Oklahoma City. Prior to that she was the policy director for the Executive Office of the Governor of Oklahoma. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Sweet Briar College.

Teresa Dietrich

Ms. Dietrich is the chief product and technology officer for Stack Overflow. Her career has focused on technical innovation, people development and web scale architecture for nearly 25 years in the internet industry. She earned her master’s degree from George Mason University and a bachelor’s from Carnegie Mellon University. Ms. Dietrich is a 1995 graduate of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics.

Dr. David Purdy

Dr. Purdy earned his doctorate in Statistics from the University of California, Berkley, a bachelor’s in Mathematics from Harvard, and studied at the California Institute of Technology. He is a 1995 graduate of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics.

Dr. A. Brent Richards

Dr. Richards is the vice president for academic services at OSSM. He received his doctorate in Neuroscience from Georgetown University, and his bachelor’s in Biochemistry from the University of Oklahoma. He is a 1996 graduate of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics.

Dr. Brad Brummel

Dr. Brummel is an associate professor at the University of Tulsa. He earned his doctorate from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and a bachelor’s degree from Calvin University. 

 

Dr. David Surratt

Dr. Surratt is the vice president for student affairs and dean of students at the University of Oklahoma. His doctorate in Higher Education Administration is from George Washington University. He also earned both a master’s and bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma.

Representative Melissa Provenzano

Representative Provenzano (Oklahoma House District 79) was elected in November 2018 to the Oklahoma House of Representatives. She also has a background in education having served as assistant principal at Bixby Public Schools and principal at Tulsa Public Schools. She earned her master’s in Educational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. She also has a bachelor’s degree in Biology.
