Dear parents and families,
The safety and welfare of our students and families are our primary concern during challenging weather conditions. According to the National Weather Service, there is a winter weather advisory in effect late tonight through Saturday night. Due to this type of weather the state is currently experiencing, we would like to extend a couple of options to you and your student:
- Parents are allowed to request that their students depart campus immediately to return home. If this decision is made, please contact the Fishbowl at (405) 522-1909. We kindly request that parents not ask their students to travel on Saturday.
- Parents are allowed to keep their students home if they consider it unsafe to return to campus. Again, if this decision is made, please contact the Fishbowl at (405) 522-1909.
Although OSSM does our absolute best in this decision-making process, we know that no perfect decision exists. Once home, if, based on current weather conditions, you do not feel as though it is safe for your student to return to school, use your best judgement on whether they should return. Additionally, please discourage your students from driving in unsafe conditions and offer them alternatives if weather conditions worsen.
We encourage you and your student to continuously monitor the weather in your city and surrounding areas. Some helpful websites are:

Please do not hesitate to contact me via email at firstname.lastname@example.org you have any questions.
