Dear fellow teachers,
I am pleased to announce that the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics is now taking nominations for student candidates to attend the 2018 GE Summer Science Academy. This program is a partnership between OSSM and the GE Foundation. The GE Summer Science Academy will be a week-long STEM-focused academic summer camp consisting of exciting, advanced classes taught by OSSM’s renowned faculty with special activities and presentations by GE engineers. It will take place July 23 through July 27 on OSSM’s downtown Oklahoma City campus. We are looking for students who are currently in the 8th , 9th , 10th, or 11th grades with a passion for math and science. The program is being provided at no cost to students thanks to the STEM Empowers OK grant from the GE Foundation. Therefore, the ideal candidates are students from underserved groups such as minorities, rural school districts, and low-income families.
To nominate a student, please fill out the online nomination form. Please submit all nominations by Friday, April 27. Once you have submitted a nomination, we will send a notification letter to the student and a separate application for admission to the program.
If you have any questions, send an email to email@example.com.
