One-Day Math Workshop for Middle School StudentsThe Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics announces intensive mathworkshops designed to expand student knowledge in higher level math concepts. These three sessions will be uniquely different. Plan to attend at least one, two, or all three! The OSSM Summer Math Institute for
The Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics is hosting another
Summer Math Institute for middle school math teachers. The purpose of
the Institute is to offer you the opportunity to enhance your knowledge
of mathematics and to advance your instructional skill. OSSM faculty
and distinguished guests will conduct the Institute. Activities include
lectures, demonstrations, lab sessions, and a field trip. The Institute
will address topics relevant to middle school math curriculum as
defined by the PASS objectives as well as enrichment topics such as
contest math. We invite you to be challenged, to be inspired, to be
better!Middle School Teachers of Mathematics Location and Dates The Institute will be held on the campus of the Oklahoma School of Science and Mathematics in Oklahoma City. Housing and meals will be provided for teachers who wish to stay on campus. Meals will be provided for commuters. Teachers staying on campus will register and move in Sunday evening, June 6th. Commuting teachers will register Monday morning, June 7th. Monday through Thursday activities will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The Institute concludes early Friday afternoon. Certificate & Stipend All teachers who successfully complete the Institute will receive a certificate of attendance and a $300 stipend. The certificate recognizes your desire to improve math education in your school and to satisfy requirements for professional development. Due to limited space teachers will be selected from a pool of applicants with preference given to earliest appliers and to those who have not previously attended.
