Matt and Amy Ensley graduated from OSSM in 1995. OSSM Graduates serving in the United States Armed Forces Daniel received his Bachelor of Science from MIT in Chemical Engineering. He received his M.D. from Washington University in St. Louis. He is a Nephology Attending at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis where he does research on polyomaviruses and their effect on renal transplant patients. Daniel has been an author on multiple articles and abstracts and has been awarded two grants to support his research. Daniel married fellow OSSM alum Susan Marie Dusenbery in 2000. Susan received her Bachelor of Science and Master of Science from MIT in Chemical Engineering. She was awarded a National Science Foundation Fellowship toward graduate studies. She received her M.D. degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Susan is a Pediatric resident at St. Louis Children's Hospital. Susan and Daniel have a 2-year-old daughter, Abigail.
Following graduation from OSSM, Brandy entered studies at the University of Oklahoma. She enjoyed chemistry classes and the professors at OSSM, so she decided to pursue a degree in chemistry. Upon graduation from OU, Brandy applied for a lab analyst position with the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI.) After completing their stringent application and hiring process, she began work at the OSBI in the Drug Identification Unit. Soon after, she transferred into the Trace Evidence Unit and has been there since. Brandy is currently involved in the broader forensic community and serves on the Board of Directors for the SW Association of Forensic Scientists (SWAFS), holds the position of Membership Committee Chairperson and was the Program Chairperson for the 2004 SWAFS Training Conference held in Oklahoma City.
Her most personally satisfying accomplishment is her family. She has been married to Jim for 9 years and has two daughters, Aubree and Ainsley. They currently reside in Norman, OK. Amy was OSSM's first scholar/athlete to attend college on an athletic scholarship. At Georgetown University, she competed in the 800-meter sprint and during medical school took a year of sabbatical to train for the 2000 U.S. Olympic Team in that event. She was sponsored by the U.S. Army World Class Athlete Program and became a Team Alternate for the 2000 Olympic Games. Her plans are specialize in sports and rehabilitation, and she is interested in pediatric orthopaedics, specifically working with mentally and physically challenged children. Jill (Stretch) Davis is a 1993 graduate of OSSM. She has a degree in Early Childhood Education from Northeastern State University. She teaches Kindergarten at Kendall-Whittier Elementary School in Tulsa. Jill is a contributing writer for several education books and magazines. She has presented at international, national, and state educational conferences. Jill has been married to Joe, 1992 OSSM graduate, for almost 12 years. Joe is a Vice President at First National Bank of Okmulgee. His degree is in Psychology. They live in Sand Springs with their eight-year-old son, Alden. Sandra Stiles graduated from OSSM in 1993. She attended Oklahoma State University on an Oklahoma State Regents’ for Higher Education Scholarship along with a Robert C. Byrd Scholarship. As an undergraduate she studied psychology with an emphasis on family relations and child development. She graduated with an Honors Program Degree in Psychology in 1997. Sandra earned her Master’s of Science in Family Relations and Child Development two years later with a 4.0 GPA. As a graduate student, Sandra was awarded both a McAlester Scottish Rite Award and a Karl and Louise Wolf Fellowship. After earning her masters degree Sandra spent 18 months as the Assistant Director of OSU’s Bureau of Social Research. She currently works at The Oklahoman as a marketing research analyst. She lives in Edmond with her two Norwegian Elkhounds, Hijinks and Kacee, who she hopes will soon be certified for a pet therapy program. Megan Winchell is a 1993 graduate of OSSM. She has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Cornell University in Chemical Engineering and is currently at the University of Tulsa pursing an Executive Leadership Institute for Technical Professionals and Engineers Certificate. Megan began working for Schlumberger Oilfield Services right out of college. She has worked in Rock Springs, WY; Oklahoma City, OK; Longview, TX; Kellyville, OK and Denver, CO. Her assignments have included field engineer, field service manager, sales engineer, technical instructor and she is currently working as a technical engineer. Megan is involved in the Society of Petroleum Engineers, serving as Chapter Secretary. She is also involved in the Chi Omega Alumnae Association, Cornell Football Association and the Cornell Alumni Admissions Ambassadors Network. She has two sons, Jackson, 3, and Ethan, 2. He attended Oklahoma State University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and a Masters Degree in Business Administration. He is a member of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Fraternity and was the recipient of the Patricia M. Dunsmore Award for the outstanding undergraduate computer science student. Geoffrey is currently the Director of Software Development for eLynx Technology, LLC, a privately held Tulsa-based company. eLynx is the leader in web-based monitoring of natural gas and oil field equipment. Geoffrey and his wife, Shawna, currently live in Owasso, Oklahoma. He earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry from the Air Force Academy in June 1999, graduating with both academic and military distinction (top 2% of his class). He received his medical degree from Georgetown University in May 2003 and is currently in Orthopaedic Surgery residency training at the University of Kansas-Wichita. James met his wife, Alicia, while studying at Georgetown and they married in 2003. Alicia, the daughter of a diplomat who is currently serving as U.S. Ambassador to Argentina, grew up living in numerous countries and is fluent in both Spanish and French. James graduates from his residency program in 2008 and plans to pursue an Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Fellowship prior to beginning his service to the Air Force.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Religion from Oklahoma City University in 1998. She graduated with a Master of Divinity from The Divinity School at Duke University. While a pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Apache, she served as Youth Coordinator of the Lawton district, was a member of the curriculum writing team for summer youth camps and served on the Lawton District Executive Council. Sara will be moving to the First United Methodist Church of Stroud, Oklahoma. She hopes to return to school to work on a Doctorate of Ministry from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. She is married to Tim Bodenstein and they have one son, Johnathan.
He attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and a Masters degree from MIT's Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. After graduation, Brenton went to work for Oracle at their software development center in Nashura, New Hampshire. Three years later, he realized he missed the raw excitement of an Oklahoma thunderstorm. He moved back to Oklahoma and has worked for Oracle as an engineer from his home for the last four years. Brenton and his wife Kathy have one son, Preston, and they are preparing for a move to Pittsburgh, where Brenton will begin a Ph.D. program in computer science at Carnegie Mellon University.
Dustin Gant Ward graduated from OSSM in 1994. He matriculated to the University of Oklahoma on a five-year Regents Scholarship where his studies included three Study Abroad semesters in France, Italy and Mexico. He graduated from OU with a B.S. (Magna Cum Laude; Phi Beta Kappa) in Psychology. He accepted a four-year Gus Ridgel Fellowship from Missouri-Columbia’s doctoral program in Counseling Psychology where he earned his Ph.D. with a specialty in Sport Psychology. Gant is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Chemical Dependency at the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at OU’s Health Sciences Center. Gant and his wife, Sara, of Tonkawa, Oklahoma, recently celebrated the birth of their first child, Rome Dustin Ward. Sara is a District Manager for a private, international corporation. Gant, Sara and Rome will be moving to Edinburgh, Scotland in August for a two-year stint with Sara’s company’s UK affiliate. Francesca Winter graduated from OSSM in 1994. She attended Oklahoma State University where she received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1999. She then went on to attain her M.B.A. from Oklahoma Christian University in 2004. Francesca was a Peace Corps Volunteer from 1999-2001 in Namibia where she taught English as a second language (ESL), Mathematics and Physical Science to junior high and high school students. During this time she traveled throughout southern Africa including South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Swaziland, Malawi and Tanzania. Francesca is currently a financial analyst for OGE-Enogex, a natural gas pipeline company, in Oklahoma City. Brandi received her Bachelor of Arts from Oklahoma State University in Music Business. She received her M.D. from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School at Dallas. She is a member of Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society and Golden Key International Honor Society. She is a Pediatric resident at the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center, New Orleans, Louisiana. In March 2006, Brandi toured with a choir through Italy. Her personal interests include: music (vocal performances), piano, flute, folk harp, writing prose and poetry, reading, gardening, and cooking. Brandi currently lives in Harahan, Louisiana.
Matt & Amy are 1995 graduates of OSSM. In 1999, Matt obtained his Bachelor of Science Degree from Oklahoma State University in Electrical Engineering and in 2001 he obtained his Masters of Science from the University of Michigan in Electrical Engineering. He worked on space communications systems in Los Angeles for three years and now works on airborne intelligence systems as a Principal Systems Engineer for a defense contractor in Greenville, Texas. Amy obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1999 from Oklahoma State University in Zoology. Amy was a Research Technician at the University of Michigan Pharmacology Department working on drug addiction studies. She has taught and developed curriculum for an integrated science program for North High School in Torrance, California. Amy is currently in a Masters Program in Microbiology at the University of Texas A&M at Commerce. Matt and Amy were married in 1999. They have two children, Marcus (3) and Abigail (1). As our nation is fighting terrorism, and confronting troubles in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other regions around the globe, and as our troops aid those affected by the devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami in the countries surrounding the Indian Ocean, many OSSM graduates have chosen to serve in the United States Armed Forces. Some of them are named above. These young people are truly “giving back” to society. Also, several graduates are attending United States service academies, looking toward careers in service to their country, and others are enrolled in ROTC programs at universities in Oklahoma and across the nation.
